無能為力

My hands are tied. （我能做的有限；無能為力）

如果一個人的雙手被捆住了，那麼這個人則無法動彈，也沒辦法做自己想要做的事情。在英語中，我們用表達“somebody’s hands are tied 某人的雙手被綁上了”來形容一個人身不由己、無能為力的狀態。我們多在口語中使用這個說法，像是別人要請你幫忙，但因某些東西限制，你所能做的不多，就可以說：I would love to help, but my hands are tied. （我很樂意幫忙，但是我可能能幫的不多），當然所有格的部份也可以換成其他人，像 his, her 等，像是：His hands are tied. （他能做的有限）。

無能為力：用不上力量；幫不上忙；指沒有能力或力不能及。

例句：

1. Please tell him my hands are tied . i ' ll call him later.（請告訴他我很忙，待會我會跟他聯絡）

2. You brought a weapon to my class . my hands are tied.（你帶了武器到我的課堂上，我無能為力了）
